Lojjatun Nesa (Urdu/Persian: لذت النساء, “Delight of Women”) is an anonymously authored manual on female sexuality, marital relations, and reproductive health, historically attributed to the Mughal court in 15th–16th century South Asia. Despite its popularity in vernacular translations (especially Urdu and Bengali PDFs), mainstream Islamic scholars largely reject it as unauthentic and potentially fabricated. This paper examines the book’s attributed contents, its divergence from orthodox Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh), its circulation in digital formats, and the ethical concerns surrounding its medical and religious claims. It concludes that Lojjatun Nesa is best understood as a pseudo-canonical folk text reflecting pre-modern Indo-Persian sexual culture rather than authoritative Islamic guidance.
