Black South African filmmakers had almost no access to funding, distribution, or training. Most films featuring Black actors were produced by white-owned studios, often relegating Black characters to servant roles or simplistic, “tribal” narratives aimed at tourists. It is against this backdrop that emerged as a minor miracle.

(played by Jason Yukon), the ambitious godson of a local Mafia Don, Lea Roca. Marco is tasked with managing a mob-run brothel, which he transforms into a financial success. Driven by a desire to rise quickly through the criminal hierarchy, Marco eventually double-crosses his boss and attempts to expand into the drug trade.
