Honorbuddy for World of Warcraft version 3.3.5 (Wrath of the Lich King) is widely considered the "gold standard" for legacy botting. While the software was officially discontinued by Bossland GmbH following years of legal battles with Blizzard, it remains a nostalgic powerhouse for players on private servers. For over a decade, Honorbuddy has been the industry standard for WoW botting. While the original Honorbuddy project eventually ceased development following legal pressures from Activision Blizzard, the remains alive and well in the community. Patch 3.3 introduced the Looking for Dungeon (LFD) tool, a cross-server system that automated group formation. This was a boon for botters.
