The title screen often sets the tone, featuring distorted sprites or images that look like they were copy-pasted from MS Paint. In-game, the aesthetic changes are jarring. The hack utilizes "chibi" style sprites for the trainers, but not the cute, consistent chibi styles of official games. These are often disproportionate, crudely drawn, or strangely animated.
