Take your Week 2 well. Add a subdivision modifier. Add three Area Lights . Position them manually. Render with F12 .
The first hurdle in any Blender journey is the User Interface (UI). It is notorious for being daunting.
When you launch Blender, you are greeted with a splash screen (which you can disable later). Click anywhere to dismiss it. You will see a square in the middle (the Viewport) containing a Cube, a Camera, and a Light.

Just like photography, good lighting makes or breaks a scene. Use "Three-Point Lighting" to make your subject pop. Rendering:
Focus on the 3D Viewport (center), Outliner (top right), and Properties (bottom right). Navigation Basics: Middle Mouse Button: Rotate the view. Shift + Middle Mouse: Pan the view. Scroll Wheel: Zoom in and out. The "Big Three" Shortcuts: G (Grab): Move the object. R (Rotate): Turn the object. S (Scale): Change the size.
