Set in 1967 Los Angeles, the film follows widowed mother Alice Zander (Elizabeth Reaser), who runs a seance scam from her home with her daughters, Paulina (Annalise Basso) and Doris (Lulu Wilson). To make their fake sessions more believable, they purchase a antique Ouija board. Unfortunately, they accidentally open a gateway for a very real, very malevolent spirit that possesses young Doris.
