PCSX2 decompresses the ISO on the fly (especially with CHD or zipped formats), so load times can be slightly longer, but gameplay framerates remained stable on my mid-range PC. The bigger issue is – some compressed versions use modified headers or custom ripping methods that cause PCSX2 to crash at specific points, especially during FMV-heavy sequences.
