There is no weapon in hand, no stolen car to flee in. There is only a walk down the gangway. This slow pacing is deliberate. It forces the player to inhabit Niko’s shoes. The first mission is simply to get in the cab and drive to the "luxury mansion" Roman promised.
For the entire boat ride, Roman’s emails have painted a picture of luxury: “I live in a mansion with 10 bedrooms,” “I drive sports cars,” “I have women throwing themselves at me.” Niko, and the player, expect a lavish penthouse and a garage full of Infernuses.
