The heart of Bijoy has always been its layout. For touch typists who learned to type in the 90s or early 2000s, the Bijoy layout is muscle memory. The 2016 version preserved this exact layout. It did not force users to relearn how to type. The placement of vowels (Swarabarnas), consonants (Byanjanbarnas), and punctuation marks remained identical to the version users had used for decades.
