Permission issues or the wrong folder path. Fix for Windows: Run After Effects as Administrator once. Right-click After Effects icon -> "Run as Administrator." This allows the plugin to read the protected ProgramData folder. Close and reopen normally. Fix for Mac: Ensure the file is in ~/Library/Application Support/VideoCopilot/ and not Macintosh HD/Library/ (the root library).
