The story begins by introducing us to two seemingly happy couples living in completely different worlds: Zoya and Yash:

Unlike typical soap operas where infidelity drags on for months, Bepannah Episode 1 accelerates the tragedy. After a massive fight with Yash, Zoya leaves in anger. Simultaneously, Rajveer has a similar fiery argument with Pooja.

Within 45 minutes, both Zoya and Rajveer have become widowed—not through illness, but through betrayal and a car accident. The episode ends with Zoya and Rajveer standing in a hospital morgue, looking at each other for the first time, realizing that their dead partners were having an affair.
