Set in the working-class Italian-American neighborhood of Belmont in the 1960s, the film follows Calogero "C" Anello (played by Lillo Brancato Jr. as a teen and Francis Capra as a child). The movie never pretends that Lorenzo’s life is glamorous, but it insists it is honorable .
