El Storm Portable: Woodman Casting

Standard iron is poured at 2,600°F. In Woodman casting during a storm, the pour temperature is lowered to 2,450°F to reduce the thermal gradient with the cold, wet mold. This prevents steam explosions (a common hazard in storm-zone foundries).
