The "-FULL-" cybernetic implant is a direct allegory for addiction and trauma. Every time Sara uses her powers to destroy a Federation ship, the implant consumes a piece of her memory. By the final episode, she can no longer remember her mother’s face. The action scenes become horror scenes: the more she fights, the more of her humanity she loses.
