Clarkson still jokes about climate change without apologizing. Hammond still crashes things. May still wears a fleece. It is the last season where the trio seemed utterly invincible, unaware that future health scares (Clarkson’s pneumonia) and the pandemic would change the production format forever.

The Grand Tour's humor and camaraderie are a key part of its success. Jeremy, Richard, and James have a chemistry that is hard to find on television, and their banter and teasing add a comedic element to the show. Whether they're arguing over cars, making fun of each other's driving skills, or simply enjoying a laugh, the hosts' humor and camaraderie make The Grand Tour feel like a fun and entertaining ride.

The unpopular segment where celebrities "died" before reaching the tent was scrapped.

More importantly, the show moved away from the sterile "Eboladome" studio tent for most episodes. Instead, embraced a roaming format, with the tent pitched in a different spectacular location each week. From the beaches of Croatia to the deserts of Dubai, the production value skyrocketed.
