Before you put pencil to paper, understand these three concepts. Every tutorial below relies on them:

Draw a simple square in the middle of your page. Inside that square, draw vertical lines that get closer together as they reach the bottom.

Using a ruler, draw perfectly straight horizontal lines across the entire page, from left to right. Draw them through your hand outline. Space them about 0.5 inches apart.

This uses "occlusion" (the overlapping lines). Because you erased the lines where it crosses, the ribbon looks like a physical strip of paper taped to your sheet.
