motherboards (late 2014 “S” model with a different HANA chip) cannot be modded via RGH.
If you have soldering experience and want a digital library, endless customizability, and don’t care about online play, the Xbox 360 S RGH 3 mod is absolutely worth it. If you’ve never soldered before, practice on junk electronics first.
JTAG was the original hardmod for early Xbox 360s (pre-2009). It was faster and more reliable than early RGH, but Microsoft patched the exploit after the Kinect dashboard update. because the bootloader was patched. Do not look for JTAG on a Slim.
