The World Champion, Marcus Kane (who won his belt back last week via controversial means), cut a promo from a leather chair in the center of the ring. Gone was the stoic cult leader. In his place was a paranoid, sweating wreck. He accused Viktor Stone of purposely failing to protect him in recent weeks.

Before we get to the Ladder Match, Episode 20 featured a brutal warm-up. Wolfe, seeking revenge for Graves breaking her arm three months ago, used the environment brilliantly. The finish saw Wolfe superplex Graves off a production crate through a table wrapped in barbed wire. This victory elevated Wolfe into the #1 contender spot for Episode 22.

“Twenty episodes ago, I walked into this company with nothing but a dream and a broken rib. Tonight, I’m the champion. But I didn’t get here alone.”
