: Look for the "Lexmark X422 Scan Driver" or "Network Scan Driver." Run in Compatibility Mode : Right-click the downloaded .exe file. Select Properties > Compatibility .

Sometimes Windows 7 incorrectly binds the Lexmark scanner to the generic USB camera driver ( usbscan.sys ). In Device Manager, under "Universal Serial Bus controllers," find the "Lexmark X422" entry.
