Mauser 98 Serial Number Lookup

It’s a German K98k because of the letter suffix and three-letter code. Step 2: “bnz” = Steyr-Daimler-Puch, Austria (1941–1945). Step 3: “44” = 1944 production year. Step 4: No suffix = first 9,999 rifles. “d” suffix = 4th block of 10,000. So 7342 d = 40,000 (for 4 blocks) + 7,342 = 47,342nd rifle of 1944 at Steyr. Result: This K98k was made by Steyr in early-to-mid 1944. Value is high if bolt, stock, and floor plate also match “7342 d.”
