This highlights one of the show's greatest strengths: it separates the "hero" from the "super." Even without her ring, Jessica’s heroism is defined by her desire to protect others from emotional harm. However, the episode also exposes her vulnerability. We see Jess’s frustration boiling over. The writers adeptly show that even a Green Lantern has a breaking point, and having one's kindness taken advantage of is a universal trigger.
