The film follows Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds), a rookie CIA officer manning a low-level "safe house" in Cape Town, South Africa. His quiet assignment is disrupted when Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington), a legendary former operative turned international criminal, is brought in for interrogation. When mercenaries attack the facility, Weston is forced to go on the run with Frost as his prisoner, leading to a high-stakes game of survival where he must decide who to trust within his own agency.
