The story follows young Hanuman (also known as Maruti), a playful child who is placed under "house arrest" by his mother, Anjani, to protect him from dangerous adventures. When his father, Senapati Kesari, returns from war and finds his son has become timid, Maruti prays to become the "bravest kid in the world".
