Dirk’s signature primary-colored jackets pop against gritty backgrounds.
It shifts effortlessly from slapstick comedy to brutal violence and sci-fi wonder. 🚀 Visuals and Soundtrack
Barnett’s performance is a high-wire act of manic energy and hidden tragedy. Dirk talks in rapid circles, believes absolutely in magic, and has the emotional maturity of an excited golden retriever. He is also deeply lonely. We learn he was a “subject” at Blackwing, a facility that studied people with strange abilities. Dirk’s “holistic” power is essentially an unconscious, reality-warping ability to find the center of a conspiracy. He doesn’t solve cases; the cases flow through him. Barnett makes you laugh one moment and break your heart the next when Dirk admits he has never had a friend.
As Dirk himself says: “You have to stop looking at the world through your eyes and start looking at it through the universe’s eyes. And the universe’s eyes are weird and covered in hair.”
