Searching for today yields a fraction of the images that other years produce. The photos are grainy, the crowds look wary, and the tents seem slightly emptier. It was not the worst Oktoberfest in history (the 1980 bombing was far more tragic), but it was certainly the most anxious. oktoberfest 2002
