Since Mazda has discontinued most ETAS components (part numbers: N326-20-300 for the box, N326-20-310 for the valve), you have three options.

Early fuel injection systems were primitive. The main ECU was slow. Mazda realized that to prevent the rotary engine from stalling when cold, they needed a dedicated, fast-acting system to control the air bypass. Thus, the ETAS was born.

Don't ignore the symptoms. Don't blindly replace your alternator or spark plugs trying to fix a cold idle issue. Open that kick panel, find the little silver box, and check your capacitors. Find the thermo sensor and check your grounds.
