Use a Q-tip dipped in 90%+ Isopropyl Alcohol to gently wipe the laser lens in a circular motion. Brought my Fat PS2 back from the dead (for now)

Look at the small orange/brown capacitors near the laser ribbon connector. If they are bulging or corroded, no amount of calibration will fix the voltage regulation. You need a full laser replacement (KHS-400C or KHS-400B). Potentiometer (Pot) Tuning (Step 3) Use a Q-tip

Locate the laser assembly. You will see the laser moving along two silver guide rails. Look directly at the of the laser carriage. You will see two small, white, circular dials surrounded by metal casings. These are the potentiometers .

: Gently wipe the lens in a circular motion. Use the dry end of the swab to remove any remaining residue. 2. Mechanical Alignment (Step 2)
