For those unfamiliar, The Aristocats is set in 1910 Paris. A retired opera singer, Madame Adelaide Bonfamille, decides to leave her entire fortune to her pampered pet cat, Duchess, and her kittens. However, the butler, Edgar—who expects to inherit the money himself—jealously schemes to get rid of the cats. He drugs them and abandons them in the French countryside.
