Chulan's life is upended during a visit to his grandfather’s grave, where he is attacked by zombies and subsequently "saved" by a mysterious girl named Feng Baobao (Fu Houhou).

The art style completely changes (switching from a soft Japanese look to a sharper Chinese aesthetic), and the plot focuses on the "Clan Competition." Here, all the major families—the Lu, Wang, and Zhang clans—send their heirs to fight for a mystical artifact.
