While it doesn’t reach the epic heights of Tears of the Kingdom , it outshines Link’s Awakening and stands proudly alongside A Link Between Worlds as one of the best top-down Zeldas ever made.
The most striking element of Echoes of Wisdom is right in the title. For the first time in a mainline canonical entry, Princess Zelda is the playable protagonist. The trailer opens with a familiar sight—Link battling Ganon—but quickly subverts expectations. Link is the one who falls, disappearing into a rift that shatters the fabric of reality. Zelda, usually the one spirited away, is now the one who must step out of the castle and into the wild.
