Consider the sound of Finch’s "awake" periods, where his mind races. The sound mix in a 5.1 environment can envelop the viewer, placing them inside his anxiety. Conversely, the film uses silence and isolation effectively. A standard stereo mix (2.0) flattens this experience. Justice Smith’s Finch whispers at the end, "You are all the colors in one, at full brightness."
