The episode opens with a crisis. Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl—Steven’s three magical guardians—are alarmed by an incoming threat: a glowing red “Eye” floating toward Beach City. Greg is hesitant to revisit the artifacts of his late wife, Rose. He points to a storage shed packed rubble-deep with Rose’s belongings: flags, shields, pedestals, and an ocean of memories.
