If you were to simply copy the Program Files folder to a USB drive and plug it into another computer, the application would likely fail. It would look for registry keys that don’t exist on the new machine. It would look for DLLs in the System32 folder that aren't there. It is effectively "broken" because its limbs (files) and brain (registry) have been severed.
