This is the most serious scenario. After a certain number of print cycles, the Epson ET-2400 will stop working and display a message stating: "A printer ink pad is at the end of its service life. Please contact Epson Support." This is triggered by an internal counter that monitors the waste ink pads inside the printer. When the counter hits a pre-set limit, the printer locks to prevent ink from overflowing onto your desk. Resetting this requires a specific software tool.
