Sheikh Al-Hussary was the first reciter to record the Quran in the "Qira’at" (variant readings) of Warsh and Qalun, in addition to the standard Hafs narration. He served as the head of the Quran Reciters Union in Egypt and was a member of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs. His passing in 1980 left a void in the world of Tajweed (the rules of Quranic recitation) that has arguably never been filled.
Unlike some reciters who focus on dramatic crying or heavy vocal effects, Al-Husary’s style is serene, humble, and deeply reverent . His emotion is controlled but profound, drawing the listener's focus entirely to the meaning of the verses rather than the performance. thmyl-alqran-alkrym-bswt-alshykh-mhmwd-khlyl-alhsry
